Essay Winter Break

     After first semester ended, we went on a break for about three weeks before second semester started. During the first time of the break, I mostly stayed home. I went out to eat with family once in a while and sometimes went to visit my grandmother. She is not feeling too well, and had recently gotten surgery. I stayed home, missed out on church often. I stayed home, used, played on my computer. I like to play with my dog Coco because shes hyper and shes obviously my cute, awesome dog. Basically I ate, played, ate, talked with friends, went out for church or other social activities. I had once broke my laptop for leaving it on for too long. The screen became black and it wouldn't fix. The computer was on, everything was basically working except the screen. i had a Toshiba Satellite L505. I was looking for a fix on the internet since last year but couldn't find a fix. I recently came upon the idea to search up once more on how to fix the laptop because i actually needed the laptop for something. Miraculously there was a fix few weeks after the day i stopped looking for a fix. The fix was very simple, all i had to do was cover the fan, after it would heat up and the laptop would shut off itself by overheating. After i fixed it, there was a few days left of winter break and it was very useful for me to use. I actually doubted that this simple fix would work and just screw up my laptop even more but i took the risk cause either way it wouldn't work. I have two Toshiba laptops and i fixed both of them with the same fix, it was good and i thank the person who revealed it. It was like magic, the laptop just turned on after leaving it to overheat for about one hour to two hours. I restarted my laptop. Now i can perfectly use the laptop without any issues. It lags a little bit but it lagged before and it works fine now. I can use it like before, i saved a lot of money. During my winter break I had a bit of fun.

I talked to my friends on a software called Skype, we played games together, did allnighter's, and hung out during the summer. I went to this place called YMCA mostly everyday, its like a gym where you workout and play basketball. You have to sign up for like 20 dollars a month. I don't sign up cause i don't go often unless I'm on break. I use my friends pass to go play or go inside. A lot of my friends hang out, go to YMCA and then go home, play a popular game called league of legends, counter strike global offensive, Osu, etc.

I was a bit dissapointed when winter break was almost over. I was having so much fun with all my friends and knowing that i had to sleep early cause school is starting made me very sad. I have to wake up early, try to bring my grades up, which i don't do because I'm lazy. Winter break was a decent break for me. It was long about a week or two and it was a good break because going to school for a whole semester can be frustrating. Basically for my winter break that was all i did for the one-two weeks.

Portfolio Reflection Essay

In the portfolio my favorite piece of work is my Cornell notes. The Cornell notes can help me review and study about subjects that the Cornell notes holds. The Cornell notes have notes where i can study later on and learn about. The notes show how much it can help me and that it can be useful whenever i need to study the certain subject, or a future test. Our teacher shows us videos/movie where we have to take Cornell notes on and we get graded on it and can we can get a quiz or test on it, she comes around and gives a stamp for extra credit to the people who have paper out.

     Looking at a work from the beginning of the year and one from the end of the year's work, I've noticed improvement at the way end of the year, in the beginning i had wrote less educated words and specific definition to explain the story. In the beginning I wrote words and stories that seems uneducated. It was very simple things that i already knew since previous grades. I wasn't putting in much effort than i usually was supposed to, at the end of the year the works have changed and it is more specified than the beginning. 

       I have improved specifically in my opinion on writing and formatting essays. We had worked on essays before and recently increased vocabulary words, we also learned how to format and how to state thesis better, and more fluently. I noticed how to find the theme along with better conclusions.

    The areas where I would like to improve on is better vocabulary, new harder words so that I can be more precise in arguments. I can also understand hard vocabulary words while reading books that are high level vocab, also it helps me write better professional stories that actually make sense. I would like to improve on vocabulary.

   

English Assessment

After reading three texts that have to deal with digital privacy, I think that digital privacy should be an expectation in the 21st century. In the three paragraphs, it or the government officials say that they record every call and hold all the information at a place where it can't be accessed by anyone too easily without goijng through processes. If it were true about what they say, that they don;t spy on us but terror related activites. I support this and suppose everyone or atleast half of the population under the goverment collcetion the people's privacy data shoudl be expecting it. It is expected in the 21st century in my perspective.

I stated above, I support the idea that digital privacy should be an expectation int he 21st century. The reason for that is I have read all there text, paragraphs and currently think that one of the government officials said they collect the data and store them all in a place where it can not be accessed to just anyone. Even the higher up officials need to to go through a process and give clear and proper evidence that it is used to prevent future terror plots. They listen to out of sate calls in order to prevent danger. The rumors say that they listen to people's privacy but not everyone acn get access to the collcetion of data. Even if they get acces it is very highly doubtyed that whomever has acces to the data, they would spend their free time listening on over millions of phone calls. It is very unlikely to be leaked, if it were to be learekd it wouild affect the government it is a high chance what the peopleknow of could not be true. That is my perspective after raedint the three texts.
